Investment Competitions

Participate in investment competitions and test your knowledge and skills!

The Wharton Global High School Investment Competition is a free, experiential investment challenge for high school students (9th to 12th grade) and teachers. Students work in teams of four to six, guided by a teacher as their advisor, and have access to an online stock market simulator. Together, they learn about strategy-building, teamwork, communication, risk, diversification, company and industry analysis, and many other aspects of investing.

Key Dates:

  • June 30, 2025 - Registration Open

  • Sept 12, 2025 - Registration Close

  • Sept 29, 2025 - First day of trading 

  • Dec 5, 2025 - Last day of trading

  • Dec 12, 2025 - Final report due 

  • Jan 27, 2026 - Semi-Finalist announced

  • Week of March 9 - Virtual Semi-Final

  • Apr 24-25, 2026 - Final

The School of Business at Stevens Institute of Technology invites high-school sophomores and juniors to compete in Stevens Trading Day 2026—a two-part experience that combines a month-long virtual investing competition (February 2026) and a live on-campus trading finals (late April 2026).

The University of Texas at Dallas is very excited to present the 2025 Top Trader Competition. Throughout the summer program, high school students will be exposed to the world of investment management. The goal is simple: who can take the skills learned throughout the program and apply them to make the most money in our virtual simulator? Do you have what it takes to be the TOP TRADER?

Form a team and test your skills!

What could you do with $1,000,000? Find out by testing your investment skills in our annual High School Investment Competition. 

  • Form a team of three to six students (plus a teacher/advisor)

  • Your team will receive $1,000,000 (virtual U.S.) to invest. 

  • Portfolios with the best performance will win cash prizes ranging from $1,000 to $3,000. 

  • You’ll learn the basic principles of the stock market as your team experiences its ups and downs in real time—and receive a fee waiver if you're a senior and apply to Ithaca College!

The Global Stock Pitch Competition is the capstone event of the year, bringing together the investment skills students have built through YIS programs. This competition gives high school students the chance to experience hands-on financial analysis while working on a professional-level project.

Overview:

  • Students (individually or in teams of two) select a publicly traded company and develop their “best stock idea.”

  • Teams conduct in-depth research and financial analysis—sometimes even meeting with company management.

  • Each student/team submits a written stock pitch report with a clear Buy, or Sell  recommendation, PowerPoint Presentation and YouTube video link of themselves presenting their pitch. All 3 items are required to participate. 

  • Students then present and defend their analysis before a panel of industry professionals.

  • Feb 20, 2026 - Registration close / Deadline to submit stock pitch report

  • May 28 - 29, 2026 - Global Youth Investment Summit (Top 100 teams)
